How Does A Capsule Filling Machine Work?

The working principle of the capsule filling machine is mainly based on automatic intermittent rotary motion:

1. Preparation
Press the green button in the "power switch" to turn on the power.
Adjust the "vibration intensity adjustment knob" to make the sorting plate integrated with the "vibration bracket" start to vibrate, and put the powder capsule shell and capsule cap into the corresponding sorting plate respectively. The sorting plate is made of plexiglass plate, and many funnel-shaped round holes with large top and small bottom are drilled on it. The diameter of the round hole corresponds to the diameter of the capsule number.
2. Filling process
Sorting and capsule separation: The empty capsules are discharged from the capsule bucket and pushed into the sorting station in an orderly manner through the capsule slot by the push rod. This station uses vacuum suction to separate the capsule body from top to bottom, with the capsule cap in the upper module and the capsule body in the lower module.
Filling powder: After the capsule cap and the capsule body pass through the transition station, they enter the filling station. The filling station pushes the filled and compressed medicine column (powder column) into the capsule body of the lower module. Usually, powder filling is completed at a specific station.
Removing waste capsules: After passing the transition station, the filled capsules enter the removal station, where unqualified capsules can be removed, including unseparated capsules, incorrectly inserted capsules, or capsules with two capsule caps.
Locking capsules: At the positioning station, the machine aligns the upper and lower parts of the capsule. After the capsules are aligned up and down, they enter the sealing station, where a special ejector moves up and down to lock the capsule cap and the capsule body together.
Discharging capsules: The filled and locked capsules come to the discharge station, and the fixed rod is used to eject or discharge the capsules.
Cleaning the mold: At the vacuum cleaning station, the upper and lower modules are cleaned with automatic purge components to prepare for the next work cycle.
3. Manual operation of semi-automatic capsule filling machine (example)
After about 30 seconds, the powdered capsule shell and the capsule cap fall into the round hole with the opening facing up. If the individual openings face down, the capsule cap can be gently pressed down to make the opening face up.
Use the powder capsule shell connecting plate to take out the powder capsule shell in the sorting tray, and then cover the randomly provided plexiglass frame on the powder capsule connecting plate, use a small bucket to shovel the powder into the frame, scrape it with the edge of the frame, and fill it with powder, and scrape off the excess powder.
Put the capsule cap cover set plate on the capsule cap connecting plate, turn the capsule cap connecting plate over so that the capsule opening faces down, and put it on the powder capsule shell connecting plate that has been filled with powder.
Put the fitted capsule plate into the cavity under the "capsule cap forming plate", pull the "press rod" down by hand and put it in place, take out the fitted capsule plate, pour out the capsule, and after filling, you can cycle the next plate.
IV. Precautions
When the equipment is running, the fastening of the screws in each part should be checked frequently. If there is any looseness, it should be tightened in time to prevent failure and damage.
Plexiglass parts (such as workbench plates and medicine plates) should be kept away from direct sunlight and high temperature, and heavy objects should not be placed to avoid deformation and damage.
The electrical housing and the machine body must be grounded to ensure safety, and the power supply must be turned off after work.
After work every day, the residual medicine on the machine and in the mold hole should be cleaned to keep the whole machine clean and hygienic, and avoid washing the main machine with water.
The capsule filling machine uses a series of automated processes to efficiently and accurately fill the drug powder into the capsule, and complete the locking and discharge of the capsule.
