The first development period was from the 1950s to the mid-1980s, which started with the manufacture of simple air extractors. At that time, there were less than 20 companies producing vacuum equipment in the country, and their products were mainly mid- to low-end vacuum equipment, such as mirror-making coating machines and cigarette packaging machines. From the late 1980s to the entire 1990s, it was the second period of development of China's vacuum industry. During this period, the number of manufacturing companies increased to nearly 3,000, employing 35,000 people. After the "Seventh Five-Year Plan" and "Eighth Five-Year Plan" technological transformation, the overall level of the entire vacuum industry has been greatly improved. In terms of processing conditions, advanced production equipment such as machining center CNC machine tools and resin sand castings have begun to equip enterprises. By 1996, driven by the magnesium smelting industry, the vacuum industry developed rapidly.
